Juventus wins to nil and more Serie A betting tips

The Juventus machine marched on last time out, as the defending champions and league leaders defeated Pescara by two goals to nil. It was the Turin-based outfit’s 26th victory of the Serie A campaign and means they head into gameweek 33 eight points clear of second-placed Roma at the top of the table.

Genoa will struggle to stop the table-toppers this weekend, so I’d bet the farm on Juventus coming out on top in front of their own supporters. A home win to nil at J-Stadium fetches odds of 1.78 in the sportsbook.

My betting tip: Juventus to beat Genoa.

Napoli have not quite wrapped up a Champions League qualification spot yet, but it is difficult to see them dropping out of the top three at this stage of the season. Their upcoming opponents Sassuolo have little left to play for – relegation is no longer a danger, but the top half of the table is out of reach – and will struggle to halt the southerners this weekend, which is why I’ll be putting some cash on Napoli to win with both teams to score. That’s available at 2.65.

My betting tip: Napoli to beat Sassuolo.

Roma remain on course for second spot in the Italian top tier, even if Juventus are once again running away with it in first place. Pescara, meanwhile, have had one or two bright moments since they changed their manager, but the bottom line is that the promoted team do not have enough quality to survive at this level. This should be a pretty straightforward match for the Giallorossi, and Pescara’s attacking abandon means a Roma win in a game featuring more than 4.5 goals is a very tempting proposition indeed.

My betting tip: Roma to beat Pescara.

Inter’s visit to the Stadio Artemio Franchi to take on Fiorentina looks like the most intriguing encounter on the peninsula this weekend. The Nerazzurri will still be disappointed at throwing away a two-goal lead against Milan last time out, but it is vital that they get that setback out of their system as soon as possible. Fiorentina are inconsistent but possess plenty of quality within their ranks, which is why I’m leaning towards a draw with both teams to find the back of the net on Saturday night.

My betting tip: Fiorentina to draw with Inter.

Elsewhere, Lazio will be looking to keep their slim top-three hopes alive when they lock horns with Palermo, who are almost certainly doomed to relegation to the second division of the Italian game. I can’t look past a comfortable home victory at the Stadio Olimpico, so consider adding a Lazio triumph to any of your other selections to make a combi bet.

Milan will be buoyant after their last-gasp draw against rivals Inter last weekend, and I expect them to add another three points to their tally for the season when they do battle with struggling Empoli in gameweek 33. There is little value to be had in simply backing the Rossoneri to come out on top, though – my advice, then, is to put some money on a 3-0 Milan win in the correct scoreline market. That’s offered in the sportsbook at odds of 8.45.
