About the Conference League
This third tier of European club football features a group stage with a 36-team league format, where each team plays 6 different opponents. The fifth season of the Conference League competition introduced new rules, including:
- The top 8 automatically qualify for round 16. Teams ranked 9th to 24th compete in two-legged playoff rounds; teams finishing 25th or lower are eliminated from the competition.
- One emergency player replacement is allowed in cases of long-term injury or illness.
