What is a Betting Limit?

Betting Limit also known as the Wagering Limit is a service that lets you control the amount of money you can bet within a given period.

To set your betting limit, just set the maximum amount you would like to spend within a specific period of time (daily, weekly or monthly).

This gives you control over how much you spend at Betsson.

How does the Betting Limit work?

Whenever you try to place a bet that will result in your limit being exceeded, the bet will be rejected.

When placing a bet, the amount being bet will be checked against your Betting Limit and how much you have bet within the period to see whether it will result in the limit being exceeded. So if you have a weekly limit of €100 and you have placed bets with a total value of €90 in the last 24 hours, any bets over €10 will be rejected.

For poker, the bet amount is considered to be how much you take to the table. So in the above example, you will only be allowed to take €10 to the table. Any amount higher than €10 will be rejected.

How does my Betting Limit calculate how much I have bet?

The total value of the bets you have placed is compared against the Betting Limit you have chosen and is calculated according to what you have bet within the period set for the limit. So if you have set a monthly limit, the amount against which the limit will be compared with will be calculated as the total value of all bets you have placed in the last 30 days. This calculation works as follows:
• For sportsbook and slots, the bet amount that is considered for the Betting Limit is simply taken as the amount you are trying to bet.
• For poker, the bet amount is instead considered as the amount you take to the table.
• Bets placed with bonus money are not considered for your Betting Limit. So only bets made with real money are taken into consideration for calculating the total value of your bets within the period.
• When calculating how much you have bet within the period selected, the total value of the bets placed during each day within that period will be taken into consideration. So the first time you set the limit, if you set a daily limit of €10 at 16.00 the limit will take into consideration all bets made that day (from midnight), and not only those that were placed after 16.00.
• It should be noted that the definition of a day is based on the UTC+0 timezone (so from 00.00 to 23.59 UTC+0).

Can I change or cancel my Betting Limit?

Yes you can. However there are restrictions in place as part of our player protection policy. Any requests to increase or cancel a betting limit will only be processed after 7 days have passed since the request is made. During this time, you are free to change your mind and keep the limit as it was.

If you would like to reduce your limit and make it stricter, this will become effective immediately.
